           IVF, ICSI Patient information - Scientific aspect

  • In vitro fertilisation :

    Is fertilizing the human oocyte with her husbands sperms. outside
    her body in the IVF Laboratory. This type of treatment is advised for :
    1. Patients with blocked tubes
    2. Endometriosis
    3. Unexplained infertility
    4. Low count / Motility of Husbands sperms.


Investigations prior to IVF cycle:

Day 2 Wife’s FSH, LH, Prolactin, HIV, HBV Husbands semen analysis, HIV,VDRL.
Day 5 Hysteroscopy.
Day 20. Read, understand and sign consent form for IVF cycle. Deposit charges for IVF cycle so that culture media can be ordered. Start GnRh.

After menstruation:

Day 2 . Baseline scan, LH, P2 and E2.
Day 3. Inj.HMG/ P FSH/ R FSH for 5 days. Count number of follicles in each ovary by TVS. Continue same dose or reduced dose for 3 days or till the required duration to attain optimal follicular size.
Scan.
Rupturing dose of HCG 5000 iu is given 36 hours prior to ovum pick up.
Stop Gnrh from day of HCG.
Progesterone supplementation after ovum pick up daily till serum beta HCG test for pregnancy is done 14 days after pick up.

The schedule of charges For IVF:

A) Patients will have to pay INR 25,000/- to the hospital for the IVF cycle. This fee includes all lab.disposables, oocyte pick-up needle, embryo transfer catheter, culture media for IVF and sperm preparation, petri dishes, nunc wells (all single use and imported ) anesthesia for oocyte pick-up, stay in hospital for 6 to 8 hours, TV sonographic follicular study etc.

B) Patients will require investigations before and during the cycle. They will also require hormonal injections for pitutary downregulation and ovarian hyperstimulation. The patient has to bear these expenses additionally. These expenses may range from INR 6,000/- to INR 25,000/- depending upon the type and number of injections each individual patient requires. If she requires lesser injections then she will save on it. If she requires more then she has to spend for it.

The semen and IVF labs are seperate and we are using world standard equipments in our lab.such as the incubator & microscope. You are most welcome to see the same.

C) Charges for I.C.S.I. INR 35,000/-
Note: The patient will be shown all the laboratory procedures done on the oocytes and finally including the embryos.

Please note:

1.All the above mentioned disposables are manufactured abroad and intended to be used only once.
2. All the above mentioned disposables have to be specially ordered with advance payment
3. In case of cancellation of cycle because of any reason the amount spent on ordering the media will be deducted and the balance will be refunded.
4. The culture media has a shelf life of 5 weeks out of which seven days are  lost in transit  from abroad till it reaches Guntur. After media arrives it has to be used in one months time.

 Our IVF Lab has the highest pregnancy rate in this region. Clinical Pregnancy rate with  positive fetal heart activity on ultrasound is 40% per oocyte retrieval.
